Josef is named after Josef K., the protagonist from Franz Kafka’s novel The Trial. The book – and particularly a parable told within the book called Before the Law – is often read as an indictment of the inaccessibility of the law for the ordinary person.
Our mission, being to make the law accessible for everyone, is therefore tied to the fate of people like Josef K.
